Introducing

Three things.

1. A fabulous new blog by my very own sister featuring interesting/random people we meet in our lives. please help contribute! its a community effort.

2. This is some of my missional community.

What as a missional community? these are questions we ask too...for now this is a definition from my church's web site.

"A missional community is a committed core of believers who live out the mission together in a specific area or to a particular people group by demonstrating the gospel in tangible forms and declaring the gospel to others—both those who believe it and those who are being exposed to it.

This community is led by a team to shepherd, equip and organize a community on mission. This group is the church throughout the week. They identify, equip and send out new men and women to lead missional communities. Missional Communities operate unlike a Bible study and more like a family, a missionary team, a band of servants and eager learners."

We are constantly working out what this looks like. Most of us have intentionaly moved into this neighborhood, the Perry district in order to continue working out what this whole 'missional community' thing looks like. Currently we are working on a specific 'missions' statement for our group...I will keep posting our ideas on what it means to 'be the church' on 'mission' in our neighborhood.

3. Emmaus. New Community, the church that originally planted Vintage, the church I attend, has planted again! In the Perry neighborhood where I and my missional community live. We have begun to build relationships with the leaders and we are excited about being 'on mission' together in the Perry neighborhood.
