In between Spokane and Detroit, before we had to commit to real-life responsibilities, Christopher and I were incredibly fortunate to be able to take four weeks to travel the US and see my sister get married.
We backpacked, swam in crystal clear lakes, drank delicious coffee, eat great pizza, biked in San Francisco, camped along Big Sur, enjoyed family, swam more, had touching conversations, cried when my sister got married, saw the Grand Canyon, slept in a tent through multiple thunder storms, saw the most incredible landscapes, got really good at using a camping stove, saw more friends, heard rattle snakes, saw armadillos, listened to audio books, almost got stuck in a brush fire and finally made it to Detroit.
It was a refreshing time enjoying family, stillness and each other. The time alone reminded Christopher and I that actually do enjoy being together. We also discovered we are great travel partners.
And now we are here, our long anticipated destination. To all our praying friends and family reading this thank you very much. We found a rental in a great neighborhood downtown and are looking forward to what ever relationships and connections God brings to us next. A job for me would also be just great. Our long term plan is still being formulated as we get to know this city better. More to come...
