Apparently enormous amounts of people have reported feeling depressed after watching the new movie Avatar.

I chickened out seeing Avitar last minute because I didn't want to pay the 15$. But it sounds good.

Why are we drawn to worlds other than our own? Harry Potter, Twilight, Lord of the Rings, Chronicles of Narnia, fantasy seems to be something we crave. In our modern age science should provide every answer we need, and yet we are seeking more. We sense there is something more, but what?! We are drawn to places full of whispers, where every detail is significant, all things have life and a voice, where laws of nature are different, where God is everywhere and everything is spiritual, everything is a metaphor. Drawn to adventure, to danger, to epic missions and journeys where the stakes are unimaginably high. Science promises to answer every question, but why do we sometimes feel like those worlds are more real than our own? More than anyone Christians should know that magical moment is now. We are living half lives, dream lives. But God himself is with us now in the Holy Spirit slowly awakening us to true reality. The story is already here, but we are often too blind to see it.

In George MacDonald's Lilith, Mr Vane, upon stumbling into a different world is confused by its laws of space. He is told by a Raven,

"You are constantly experiencing things which you not only do not, but cannot understand. You think you understand them, but your understanding of them is only your being used to them, and therefore not surprised at them. You accept them, not because you understand them, but because you must accept them: they are there, have unavoidable relations with you! The fact is, no man understands anything, when he knows he does not understand, that is his first tottering step - not towards understanding, but towards the capability of one day understanding".
